Description: <DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"><DIV><DIV><P><SPAN>The data was updated in January of 2020 by a GIS Analyst II in the Surveyors Department at the request of Michael Nihan, Sr Planner in the Planning Department. A contact at the NSSC (National Soil Survey Cooperative) branch of the NRCS (Natural Resource Conservation Service). The data was for the entire State of California and was reprojected and clipped to just El Dorado County. The NSSC contact provided information on which unique IDs (MUKEY) were possible parent soil to Gabbroic Soil. However, these only seemed to cover Serpentine soil. Another soil specialist claimed several other MUKEYs could represent parent soil to gabbroic soils, and since this matched the previous data more closely, the Planning Department made the decision to include those other types of soil as they may be good soil. The sites should always be examined on a case by case basis for actual gabbroic soil considering the fact that they may not necessarily be a host for special status species.</SPAN></P></DIV></DIV></DIV>
